Unit 14 M1

Protocols and devices keep data safe because of these reasons. Protocols like Bluetooth keep data safe because you need a pair password to pair up with other peoples devices, and this is a password only you and the person know. Also, change your phone password every so often, and laptop password. Its important that you always check to see if your files are safe in a folder on your computer, try and make sure the folder is hidden somewhere so if someone accesses your computer they can't delete or read your private files. Lastly, make sure you keep your details safe like bank details, if you've typed them into a website, delete your history to prevent someone from finding them out. WiFi is kept safe by passwords. If you have WiFi at home, you can set a password on you WiFi, and make it as long as you want, to stop people from using your WiFi and using up your bill.

Unit 14 M2

The main differences between a mobile phone and a computer are these. One is that obviously computers are bigger, run faster, easier to use and have a lot of more protocols and programs and features. Also, on a computer you can send pictures for free, and faster, when on a phone, MMS messages cost each time. Also, phones can get hacked easier through things like super bluetooth, which is where if someone has  super bluetooth they can access your secret files and do whatever they want with them like put them on their phone or delete them. Only, laptops get viruses a lot easier and phones hardly get them. Also, there are programs which protect your laptop from viruses. Mobile phones can also get Anti-Virus protection, but you are much less likely to catch one on your mobile.A wireless router's antenna technology generally determines its Wi-Fi signal strength and hence its range. Generally speaking, 802.11 wireless routers offer better Wi-Fi range than comparable 802.11b units due to improved antennas. In general, wireless routers currently offering the best Wi-Fi signal range, however, are 802.11n (sometimes called "wireless N") units. Where standard 802.11b and 802.11g routers contain just one Wi-Fi radio and antenna, wireless N routers contain two or three radios specifically designed to maximize Wi-Fi range. SMS range and coverage is different. Unlike WiFi, you cant send mail or call people all over the world for free, with SMS it costs more than double the service providers standard network rate, which can be quite annoying at most times.

The solution for this is simple. There are several ways to do this. I will show you two examples. First, they could send it through email. This is simply log into their email, Send an email to themselves, so type in their own email address in to "to" section and attach a file and attach the pictures they need to send. Then, when they arrive at their office or wherever else, they check their emails, find the pictures and save them onto their computer, which the computer will show you how to do. Another way is Texting them, so plug the camera into the computer, copy and paste the pictures into a new file on the computer, then un-plug the camera and plug in their phone, and drag the folder you made on the computer with all the pictures onto your phone, Then, un-plug your phone send a new text message, send it to a friend who is at the office, they can then plug their phone in and drag it onto your other computer.  An email uses the internet, (wifi) so when you email it is using wifi. When you send a picture its MMS (Multi - Media Service), which will cost money so if you cant do it choose the e-mail option.

Unit 14 P3

Mobile phone Protocols

The mobile phone ways of communication are: Texting, which is a form of SMS and you need another persons phone number to do this, Bluetooth, which is a way of sending files like music and pictures to another persons phone who is right next to you. Also, there is calling people which is where you use someones phone number and you can talk to them through your mobile phone. Also, there is social networks, which are on the internet which you can get on most modern smart-phones now-a-days, which are mainly used on laptops and computers, but you can access them from your mobile handset. Lastly, there is WiFi which is the most common protocol of a mobile phone. WiFi is good because it means rather than pay for the internet when your at home, a friends house or your office, simply just connect to a near-by router.

Tablet/Laptop Protocols

The ways of communicating on a tablet or laptop are the most obvious which is internet, which opens a lot of opportunities for example Social Networks, Blog Sites and also Skype which is a way of video calling people over a webcam. Laptops also run Bluetooth if they are modern, so you can send a file from your laptop to your phone or the other way round. Also these have WiFi, as tablets they should have this because its like a touch screen PC/Laptop.

Wifi is one of the most common protocols because it is used on pretty much every device with the internet on it. It is basically short for Wireless Internet Connection, and it allows you to browse the internet, without using a Ethernet cable so you can do it anywhere.

Unit 14 D1

HTC One X - The effectiveness of the features of this phone are really good because they give you a great experience with the fully HD 1080p quality screen and camera so you always have the best experience and also it is very light so you may drop it easily or may forget its in your pocket because it ways the equivalent weight of a £2 coin. An alternative is HTC Sensation XL which is just the same, but has a few less features and is a little bit heavier.

Acer ePro Laptop - The effectiveness of the features of this are the screen is very big so its easy to see it and also its very fast and modern HiTec. The bad things are the battery life and the fact that the screen has an easier chance of breaking than most laptops. an alternative is Google Chrome book, which is a great, fast laptop with pretty much all the same features.

ePad Tablet - The effectiveness of the features of this are the fact that its bigger and easier to use than the iPad, so when your friend comes round with the iPad, you can show him up with your ePad. Also, the Google Play Store (Android App Market) is a lot better and has lots more and better apps than the Apple Market. The only bad thing  is that its quite thick and heavy, but no-ones too weak to carry round 1kg with them. If you can't get this, you should probably get the Samsung Tablet, which is just as good but a bit more expensive.

Yarvik Minia MP3 Player - The effectiveness of the features of this are easy to spot. The price is amazing and its tiny but very easy to use, so you can listen to music quickly and whenever you like. The only bad thing is that it could have a bit more memory, but it still has 2GB and you can just buy a new memory card if you really need to! an alternative device is an iPod Nano, which is probably about £30 and has 8GB of memory, which is 4x the size of- the Yarvik, so its worth the extra money!
