Unit 2 M1

Cultural awareness

Constantly scan, what goes on around you. Have curiosity about areas other than graphic design.
You need to demonstrate understanding, openness and receptivity.
A new client will be receptive to you and your ideas if you demonstrate some knowledge about the client’s field of activity, you need to talk about the project at hand.

Communication skills

You must be able to talk about your work, in a coherent, convincing. The way you present an idea is as important as the idea itself. If you know how to communicate well, you cease to let technological capabilities define your thinking. You are no longer enslaved by only working on ideas that can be mocked up on software. Develop and maintain a personal voice. There has to be a balance of interests. Communicate meaning and value. The easiest way to do this is to remove the personal from the equation.

Have integrity in your work, and believe in yourself.
Have integrity in the way you deal with fellow designers, suppliers, and other professional acquaintances.
Have integrity in the way you handle the creative work of photographers.
Have self-respect when you are working and when you are not.

You need talent to be a graphic designer, but talent in graphic design comes in myriad forms. There is no foolproof way of measuring it. Also, graphic design accommodates so many sorts of talent. You need to be a
head - down, hard working kind of character.

Unit 2 D1

For someone who wants to be employed in the IT industry, they need a certain set of skills which are either, Industrial, General or a good attitude. for someone who has General IT skills is an IT technician, for either a computer company, or a IT study - based school. This would be good because they have good knowledge of how to fix computers, typing factors and also they know how to plan and organize work for people, so they could help IT teachers maybe to organize their lessons. They have good interpersonal skills, know how to use personal computer skills to their advantage and could use these when helping to fix computers or organize lessons.

Unit 2 P1

Industry: An IT worker should know how to use computers in an advanced way, for example being able to do things a normal person wouldn't be able to do on a computer. They should know about computer safety and know how to either avoid getting viruses or know how to get rid of them. They should also be able to get used to working procedures quickly, for example, if at work they are hired to talk to people over the internet, they should be quick at typing, careful at typing and be able to follow a procedure day by day, without making any mistakes.

General: They should be able to use programs to plan and organize work for clients or just know how to plan and organize on a computer. They should know how to use interpersonal skills such as typing, fixing, moving and cleaning computers, because if they can't use interpersonal skills, they probably wouldn't get hired in the first place. They should know how to solve problems, be creative and know numeric skills such as adding on excel and using numbers for different file sizes.

Attitudes: They must be determined, so they need to make it look they really want the job, and also know how to use independent computer skills when needed. They need to have integrity, confidence and dependable whilst showing leadership and courage around their fellow colleagues and motivate themselves and their colleagues. tolerance is also an important factor of being an IT worker.

The mechanisms used in companies to stop hackers/piggy backers are things like internet security technicians who block people from hacking into their companies and their services. They also use things like Firewall, Anti-Virus programs and other Different security programs. These help to prevent computers from being hacked, or infected with viruses.

Mechanisms to stop people from using mobile phones and computers all the time are things like active advertisements to encourage people to get off of their computer and out to play sports or go for walks. Also things like opticians, which also help people who have had impacts on their life from technology devices.

Unit 14 D2

To send the contact from one phone to another i used MMS. This is a Multi - Media Message and it is a message that contains something other than just text. It is good because you can easily send stuff from your old phone to your new one, or just send stuff to a friend or who-ever's phone. It is also good because it is easy and quick to use and doesn't require an internet connection. It is bad because it costs around 25p per picture, where-as SMS doesn't cost if you have credit or a contract. You could also use e-mail, which is simply using your email to send the contact to another persons e-mail using your mobile. Just copy + paste the contact onto your email, and send it. To conclude, the better way to send a contact is e-mail, because it is just as fast, but doesn't cost a penny of credit, money or allowance, its free, fast and simple.

Unit 14 P6

Social Life
SMS and MMS have an impact on our lives because without them lots of the younger generation would feel like they are isolated from their friends and most people at their school and in their town. Also, it is a much quicker way for people to get in  contact with their boss, work friends or secretary. It uses up money and electricity, but we all think its worth it. Without mobile phones nowadays, most people would feel lost.

The Law
If you lost your phone accidentally, or it had been stole, a police tracking device would come a-lot in handy, re-uniting you with your phone or finding out the person who stole it. Without mobile phones also, you wouldn't be able to track down thieves as easy, because nowadays police use their tracking devices to track thieves mobile phones, to find out where they are, and if they didn't have mobiles the police wouldn't have anything to track so it wouldn't be as easy to find the suspect.

Unit 14 P5

To make the service more efficient they should get the cheapest Blackberry Curve they can get. This would probably be about £15 for BBM a month, and for this they can message each other quickly without having to use SMS. This would help them as they can now easily get messages about delivery mistakes and failures easily without having to pay or use Email. This is good because they may not make enough money to be constantly paying for texts.
