Unit 2 P3

If you are looking for a job, and have a degree in I.T, Design or Graphics, then you should become a Graphics Designer. Its a fun, well paid job and guaranteed to keep you busy.

As a Graphic Designer, you will work across a number of projects with an in-house studio. You will work across to a senior designer, and you will help with the designing of magazines, bottles etc.

You need to have thick skin if you’re going to be a successful designer. If you don’t have it, that’s okay. It’s something that can be developed. Also, you need to be brutally honest with yourself. People have an inherent ability to justify their decisions. Much has been made of thinking logically; approaching each project with the end user in mind, designing a logo that is versatile, etcGreat communication plays a huge role in the success of your career as a designer – and it stems from all of the other characteristics in this post. Basically, you need to be able to speak plainly about your design choices – why you chose them, and why they work. Lastly, you need confidence. Don't fake confidence, just be confident.

You need these Requirements/Qualifications:
2-4 years experience in magazine design and layout
Proficient in CS5
Excellent communication skills
Ability to work well with all levels of organization
Flexibility to work with tight deadlines and changing environments
Strong attention to detail
Self-Motivated individual
